These are the most recent pics, and some awaiting editing to make them come to life.  You will see some more photo techniques as I learn how to do interesting things.  I have found an unusable pic can be toyed with, resulting in beautiful pics.  See if you don't agree.

Creativity On

I have a couple of board substrates to create on.  This is in participation with 2x2 Jacksonville.  The community did this last year, or the year before, and it was a huge success.  I look forward to participating this time.  When the creations are complete, I will share them with you.  They will be mixed media.  Expect something very much off the wall.

I have completed a couple of other works as well.  They need to be photographed and posted.  To post to the proper media page I have created, is giving me difficulty.  I would like each technique to stand on its own, within this blog, without having to create a separate blog for each media.  The time it would take to keep up would result in no creations completed.

Please stay tuned.  I am catching up quickly.

I am busy making doll clothes for my grandaughter, but will return with art very soon.  I am preparing for an art show on Amelia Island this spring, and wish to share what I am up to.  Bear with me, as this gift gets off in the mail.

Doodle Drawing

A whole box of blank white envelopes are a doodler's opportunity to spread smiles.  These are a couple of the doodles a box of multi-colored markers inspired.  Having markers is rare.  Other materials supersede these when it comes to art supplies.  Once complete, they sit and wait for an opportunity to spread smiles through mail.  I love to practice penmanship and write letters by hand.  Eventually these two will fly, and more will be created.  When I learn how to post to the pages, these babies will go in the New Drawings tab.

It would be fun to create fabric patterns.  I often combine doodles like these with coordinating fabric designs in my sketch books.  You just never know how a doodle will grow.  The pink was a stretch from my normal color combinations.  It has an old world feel, and was a successful exercise.

Good morning.  As you can see, I have added some new tabs.  As I prepare for an art show in May, I will be adding more and more to the tabs below.  Please enjoy the new art, and feel free to comment.

What A Year

Maybe y'all have been as busy as I have been.  I think I have every finger in two pies at once.  Life is such a pleasure right not.  Many of the projects started long ago are coming to fruition. 

New projects, especially paintings and drawings are about to burst forth in plenty.  Keep an eye on them in the new pages I added.  All the new stuff will be there.  A new quilting page has been added as well.  Soon I will have a kiln again, and the ceramics will get a page.  I am looking to adding a sculpture and paper making page each, next year.  If the web will stretch far enough, fiber arts will get one too.

I haven't had time to blog much lately.  So many projects in the works.  Since we are staying where we are for another year, I am focusing on using up supplies on hand, and getting one new drawing/painting done every other day through the end of 2012.  It is a lofty goal, but I will be reaching to get as close to it as possible.  Here is a colored pencil drawing, in the works, of a little girl I saw in 2000, in New Castle DE.  The background is almost finished, then the skin and dress.  The title is Look Mommy!

This is a 4x4" colored pencil drawing, on masonite, over many, many layers of gesso and absorbant ground.  All materials are of the highest quality possible.  Remember, this work is not finished.  Completed, it will sell for $250, plus shipping and handling, within the USA.

Another Blog!

To see the world through my photographer's eye, please go check out http://www.robbinneffphotography.blogspot.com/ and be amazed at the wonderous things God has made.  I would have begun adding the photography here, but I have had trouble finding my way to adding another page.  I am fine, since people who want to see photography, may only want to see that.  At the same time, I will add some of the tidbits here.  Tonight I was out, with the last light of day, shooting these in a neighbor's yard.  (Pssst, there are more on the other page.)

Another Day

The Lord has granted me another day.  How I will spend it is up to me.  On my self?  Let me resist every temptation to focus on myself.  Instead, let it be a day for others.  Instea,d let me lead by example.  Let me show love, the greatest of all things.  Let me show the world Christ through me.

Doodling Days

I have been doodling and a couple of items are being investigated for future potential.  The first was supposed to look like a tree.  It does not.  Not even close.  What it reminds me of is, when you shave wax colors between a folded sheet of paper and iron it.  Then when it melts and squishes everywhere, you open it while it is warm and see an abstract.  I drew the design for a fold, where it was pinned and cut out.  I like the idea of an abstract quilt resembling a squish of colors.   

As you can see, I auditioned the background fabric, before settling in on the safety of a complimentary color.  It will have circles.  I've filed my digital image of the drawing concept in a file, where it is good and safe, and I cannot find it...yet.  The circles are yet to be decided, but it will be either solid black,  or solid white.  I may make them from yo-yos (a quilting technique), Yo-Yo Delights (an embellishment opportunity), or some quilting technique (applique, reverse applique).  I have a large black and white check, which will be used to anchor my squish.  However, I absolutely refuse to make this with ninety degree corners.  We'll see how it grows.

The blue doodle began strictly as a doodle.  When I managed to create the ameobic shape smoothly and enclosed, it was easy to add the circles and color it in.  The three circles at the root were the final set to make an odd numbered sets of circle for visual satisfaction.  The circles remind me of leaves, rather than flowers.  That had nothing to do with the color they ended up with.  The colors were chosen simply.  Blue because I have too many blue pencils, and it is my favorite color.  The lime and coral were chosen as good companions for the blue.  Green was analogous, and the coral complimentary.   Once it was colored completely, w/o smudging and smears, it was a good enough piece to sign.  I was thinking trees.  It demanded to be a splash, and now it is my splash tree, titled simply Splash.

These funky arms ended up on an envelope as well.  It was early, and no coffee yet, lol, but I got a quick pic as it went out the door to be mailed.  Sorry it is so fuzzy.  You can still see the doodling.  It will give you enough of an idea.  You can do these fun things too.  Use markers, colors, pencils, whatever.

Oh What A Roadtrip!

It was over 3,000 miles.  There weren't over 3,000 pictures, but there were a lot.  Here are a few.

On the Road Again

Well, I've taken about 4000 pics traveling around between FL, AR, and TX.  There has been a lot of territory covered, and not enough pics to create.  Some places are very green, from all the rain, and others are the opposite, when they should be green.
